Another Land Rehab Day
Today is Alywn’s 25th birthday. We started the day off by doing some more land rehab. We continued with the reed project by making a few more reed walls around the erosion area, and also made another dame wall in one of the many galleys that are around, which is an area that has eroded about a meter down. The dame will hopefully collect sediment, and by doing so it will accumulate seeds that will hopefully grow and diminish the erosion problem. After we worked on that for a bit, we came back for a quick lunch, and then went to cut down some more reeds for the project. We just got back from chopping the reeds with our machetes, and now I’m about to go chop down some wood for our fire tonight. We are going to watch the Brazil vs Nederland soccer match at 4’clock here, which is 10am back in Cincinnati. After the game we are going to a nice camp spot by the river to grill some food on the fire, and celebrate Alwyn’s birthday. Should be a fun night!
